Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Database Administrator/Engineer with expertise in MS SQL on AWS C2S to join our dynamic team in the Annapolis Junction area.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to database standards and optimize end-user applications.
- Demonstrate a strong command of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL optimization.
- Participate in database design, documentation, and coding efforts to enhance system efficiency.
- Utilize DBA tools (frontend/backend) and third-party applications effectively.
- Collaborate with developers to integrate programming languages APIs with the database systems.
Key Areas of Focus:
- 40% Database Administration: Manage and maintain databases, ensuring their smooth operation, high performance, and security.
- 40% ETL Development: Design, develop, and maintain Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to facilitate data integration and analytics.
- 20% Database Architecture: Contribute to the database design process and provide technical expertise to improve the overall database environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience with MS SQL on AWS C2S, including a track record of successful database administration and performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of data backup and recovery strategies, as well as database security measures.
- Familiarity with database design principles, documentation practices, and coding standards.
- Proficiency in using various DBA tools, both frontend and backend, and experience with third-party applications.
- Knowledge of programming languages and their integration with databases.
