Overview:
The Electronics Technician II provides technical support for digital and satellite communication systems within a military environment. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software, managing secure communication components, and supporting end-user systems both remotely and on-site. The technician plays a key role in maintaining operational readiness and ensuring compliance with military standards and protocols.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a service desk technician and perform on-site equipment repairs.
- Act as the primary COMSEC custodian and ICAP representative.
- Support end-user tickets, escalating as needed and tracking them through resolution.
- Handle and manage crypto components according to established procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and operational issues.
- Coordinate with OEMs and engineering teams for advanced support.
- Provide regular status updates to the depot manager.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting DoD digital systems.
- Familiarity with military SATCOM systems and DoD processes and standards.
- Knowledge of COMSEC procedures, DISA STIGs, NIST RMF, DCMA property standards, and DoD counterfeit management policies.
- Understanding of OSHA safety regulations.
- Eligibility for Secret security clearance.
Preferred Skills and Certifications:
- Prior experience in military environments, especially with the Air Force.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
