Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will conduct comprehensive engineering analyses and design studies to ensure the structural integrity and performance of UxV (Unmanned Vehicle) systems and shipbuilding programs. This role will involve defining system attributes, evaluating integration requirements, and providing technical products to support design validation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct engineering analyses to translate customer mission and performance requirements into defined UxV system attributes in engineering terms.
  • Perform engineering studies to allocate UxV attributes to specific systems, focusing on design direction, performance, configuration, space, weight, and arrangement.
  • Lead design and engineering studies to determine the level of UxV systems integration required to meet mission and performance objectives.
  • Provide Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) through the development of technical products, including:
  • Drawings: Conceptual and product engineering designs, Calculations, schematics, and reports.  
  • Ensure structures are designed to withstand stresses and pressures from operational use and environmental conditions.
  • Perform calculations for stability, strength, and rigidity, and recommend appropriate materials for shipbuilding programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate designs and ensure alignment with customer requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain compliance with industry and safety standards in all structural designs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.  
  • Experience with engineering analyses, system design, and performance evaluation.  
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, such as ANSYS, SolidWorks, or equivalent tools.  
  • Strong understanding of material properties and their application in structural design.  
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical documentation, including drawings and reports.  
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
