Overview:
We are seeking a Design Engineer to lead the development and integration of UxV (Unmanned Vehicle) systems. This role involves solving technical challenges, conducting engineering analyses, and creating designs that meet mission requirements while ensuring functional balance and system integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and refine UxV designs to resolve technical issues during design and construction.
- Define UxV attributes from mission requirements and allocate them to systems for performance, configuration, space, and weight optimization.
- Conduct studies to determine required system integration levels and ensure mission suitability, survivability, and seaworthiness.
- Provide Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) through drawings, schematics, calculations, and technical reports.
- Design and integrate UxV systems, including hull, propulsion, electrical systems, stability, autonomy, and combat systems.
- Evaluate designs to ensure they meet functional, performance, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field;
- Experience with system design and integration;
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
Preferred: Master’s degree, experience with shipbuilding or UxV systems, and knowledge of ABS/IMO standards.
